Dear Lord Jesus, I have specific requests that may only partially fill the infinite needs and desires that are in my heart. I ask that You answer me not only for those requests but also for a greater reliance on You to satisfy the needs and desires that You have given me.

Please grant the prayers of all those who prayed this novena with me. Bless them with Your love and make them holy!

May I seek You with a sincere heart knowing that it will profit me nothing if I gain the whole world yet lose my soul.

So, help me to see Your good and gracious purpose in all my trials. Help me to see Your blessings in every day and help me to love You more.

She made it through the trials of breastfeeding for the first time, sleepless nights and adjustments to a family of 3 while preparing for her husband to go on deployment.

Topics covered in the class include Theology of the Body, benefits of breastfeeding, getting started, learning latch and positioning techniques, as well as options for using natural family planning while breastfeeding (does not include formal instruction in the Marquette Method), and overcoming common lactation challenges.

Information on pumping and storing expressed milk, nutrition for the nursing mother, starting your baby on solids, and the weaning process will also be discussed.

With holidays coming up and travel increasing here are some tips about traveling while tracking your cycle:

You’ll need to pack your monitor if:
🩸Your period will start while you’re on vacation
🏔️You haven’t yet detected your peak day within the current cycle
🤱🏽You’re following the breastfeeding protocol before the first period
🕰️If you’re travelling across time zones, plan ahead when you set your testing window.*

Don’t put the monitor and supplies into checked baggage if you’re flying, it’s safer in your carry-on!

Monitor packing list:
☑️A waterproof container to hold your monitor and supplies
☑️More test sticks than you think you’ll need
☑️Back-up LH tests in case ovulation is delayed, or you can’t use the monitor
☑️A urine collection container, or enough disposable ones for your days away
☑️Your chart!

* You may need to save your first morning urine sample until the afternoon or evening, or wake up early to catch the testing window depending on how your local time is set. (if you give a call to the Clearblue hotline, they can help you calculate how to set your monitor for travel)

“I was inspired to become a Marquette Method instructor when using the method myself. A couple years ago, my instructor at the time said she loved her position and encouraged me to get certified. The Archdiocese of Detroit hosted a date night to celebrate NFP earlier this week. They celebrated the theme of NFP week being “Love Beyond Measure.” Lauren Vitale spoke as a part of the celebration.

“The Catholic Church did not come up with the term natural family planning; it was a research term used by the scientists who developed it. It is really a specific term for the methods used to have a baby. We’re talking about a specific, scientific, researched-based term.”

“Marriage is a sacrament that is going to help you get to heaven. In your marriage, you will find all sorts of things that will help you grow in holiness, and one of those things can be NFP. You have the opportunity to grow in virtue as husband and wife — it may not seem like a benefit when living it, but just know you are going to see that benefit, and it will bear fruit.” —Lauren Vitale

Today marks the anniversary of Humanae Vitae being proclaimed and is the reason we celebrate NFP week this week! Most topics related to the practice of NFP are referenced at some point in this document. The excerpt highlighted in this post focuses on self discipline and the beauty that occasionally abstinence brings into a marriage.

While most couples may say this practice isn’t their favorite part of NFP it’s likely most would say it often bears great fruit in their relationship.

Today also marks the feast of St. James the Greater and we ask for his intercession for all couples that they may be as passionate as he was in following Jesus and sharing his message of love to bring glory to God in every aspect of their lives.

“We visited 16 states in total over 13 days: Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Wyoming, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio!

The rodeo in Cody, Wyoming was a kid favorite, and Giovanni and I would now like to live in the mountains. We camped with cows, hiked with stray dogs, and took selfies with various giant fake animals as roadside attractions.

The winding mountain drives were slightly terrifying, and we came across some beautiful churches where we prayed for all the intentions we could think of. The highlight was visiting our dear friends in Idaho, but the tourist sites were memorable, and I felt like a little kid! We’re glad to be home, but still dreaming of the crisp mountain air and smell of pine trees along the lake in Coeur d’Alene.”
