Calling all moms to be! The Whole Mission lactation education class prepares you to breastfeed your baby. Topics covered in the class include Theology of the Body, benefits of breastfeeding, getting started, learning latch and positioning techniques, as well as options for using natural family planning while breastfeeding (does not include formal instruction in the Marquette Method), and overcoming common lactation challenges.

Information on pumping and storing expressed milk, nutrition for the nursing mother, starting your baby on solids, and the weaning process will also be discussed.

Nina has a degree in Biological Sciences from Marquette University, completed the Didactic Program in Dietetics at lowa State University, and trained at the Los Angeles Veterans Hospital Dietetic Internship Program. She has worked as a Registered Dietitian for over 10 years, specializing in eating disorder treatment and women’s health (PCOS management and hormonal balance). Now she has added Marquette Method instructor to the gifts she’s sharing with us all.

With holidays coming up and travel increasing here are some tips about traveling while tracking your cycle:

You’ll need to pack your monitor if:
🩸Your period will start while you’re on vacation
🏔️You haven’t yet detected your peak day within the current cycle
🤱🏽You’re following the breastfeeding protocol before the first period
🕰️If you’re travelling across time zones, plan ahead when you set your testing window.*

Don’t put the monitor and supplies into checked baggage if you’re flying, it’s safer in your carry-on!

Monitor packing list:
☑️A waterproof container to hold your monitor and supplies
☑️More test sticks than you think you’ll need
☑️Back-up LH tests in case ovulation is delayed, or you can’t use the monitor
☑️A urine collection container, or enough disposable ones for your days away
☑️Your chart!

* You may need to save your first morning urine sample until the afternoon or evening, or wake up early to catch the testing window depending on how your local time is set. (if you give a call to the Clearblue hotline, they can help you calculate how to set your monitor for travel)
